I have a job interview in a few days. Does anyone know where I can get information about TDC 3000? Here's my background: I have 5+ years of experience developing and supporting DeltaV, Honeywell Measurex Vision 2000 (shudder) and Rockwell SLC 500's. Unfortunately, I know nothing about TDC 3000s. The place where I am interviewing uses some combination of DeltaV and TDC 3000.
I'm certainly not going to try to pass myself off as an expert on the subject. I'd just like to know enough to ask a few intelligent questions. Thanks in advance.
PS - If anyone has any tips for moving from a batch-intensive industry to a continuous one, I'd love to hear that, too. Couple of things. First, tell them the truth about your background.

You clearly have enough background to be able to learn TDC3000 fairly quickly, so you can tell them that, too. Regarding moving from a batch-intensive industry to continuous processing.continuous is easier (nooooo! Don't throw things!). One of the cutting edge control theory areas is the application of ISA88 theory to continuous processes.after all, a continuous process CAN be visualized as a sort of very long batch from startup to shutdown.it isn't, really, but it gives you some very interesting insights and potential control strategies to think that way. Be yourself, sell yourself and your skills- if there's a match you win.
If you try to sell yourself as something you aren't, you and your new employer both lose. Not a lot of TDC sales literature left on Honeywell's site-the system has been functionally obsolete for close to a decade. Honeywell supports TDC2000 and TDC3000, but really really really wants you to upgrade to Experion PKS, and there are a bunch of really good reasons to do so. Experion is one of the best DCS systems available, in my not so humble opinion, and is far better than the TDC systems ever were.
You're going to get your training on TDC after you get hired, because that's what most people do. I wish you good luck. It sounds like they ought to be getting a fine employee.
